It can be very exciting deciding on your music
for your party. At the end of the day, you know
your guests better than anyone.
Most DJs are more than happy to accept a short
playlist as it gives them an indication of the
type of music you like. Alternatively, and
equally as helpful, detail the genres and
decades that you and your guests will enjoy dancing
to.
A suggested length of playlist is 15 to 20
songs. Your DJ has a vast experience of knowing
what blends well together, grouping sets of
songs to create continuity/flow and what fills
the dance floor. A shorter playlist gives your
DJ guidance, but allows them to include tried
and tested tracks of a similar genre.
Most DJs happily take requests from your guests
on the night. Some have the facility on their
websites to allow guests to request songs in
advance.
When compiling your playlist, remember, not
everything you like listening to at home is a
sure fire dance floor filler. Discuss choices
with your DJ and they will probably suggest
playing non dance tracks as your guests arrive
or during the buffet. |
